Golden Opportunities to Learn (GO-Learn)

What is GO-Learn

GO-Learn is the name of ‘Golden Opportunities to Learn’, a non-prescriptive toolkit designed to allow organisations to harness the interest generated by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in attracting adults and young people into learning, volunteering and work.

What is it about?

It is about helping organisations, through a collection of case-studies and easy steps, to find ways to engage adults and young people through sport, recreation or cultural activities, and about adding the element of work and employability skills to these activities. The challenge is not necessarily for organisations to deliver every aspect of a programme themselves but rather to link up and co-work with other organisations.

So, if you are part of a community organisation, group, club, Further Education College or local authority and you feel that you can offer training to adults and young people that will allow them to progress towards further learning, volunteering or paid employment, this toolkit is for you.

How can I access the toolkit?

You can follow it section by section, or you can ‘dip into’ the sections that interest you or that are relevant to your organisation.By clicking the heading below you can download individual sections of the toolkit:
