Create Compete Collaborate (CCC) is a groundbreaking ambition, which aims to ensure that:
‘Every young person in the South East has the opportunity to take part in a project with young people from another country between now and 2012.’
CCC will use the inspiration of the 2012 London Games to increase the opportunities for every young person in the region to engage with their peers, internationally, and leave a legacy of young people with broadened horizons, new skills, and enhanced global awareness and connectedness.
The initiative seeks to promote the Olympic values of ‘excellence, respect and friendship’, to broaden the international outlook of young people in the region and to encourage in their development the qualities of openness, understanding, enquiry, equality and cooperation.
There are two strands to the initiative.
1. The Community Strand: CCC will discover, connect and champion existing international collaborations for young people.
• The website, capturing stories about international collaborations between young people, connecting and profiling organisations delivering collaborative projects, signposting development opportunities and showcasing best practice.
• CCCeCommunity, an on-line enabling tool allowing young people to share experiences and communicate with peers around the world using videos, photos, sound clips and conferencing.
• A series of regional events for those who work with young people, to champion excellent models of practice, to drive the vision forward and to explore new opportunities.
• The CCC team, offering support, advice and connectivity to those delivering international collaborative projects.
2. The Project Strand: CCC will support partners to imagine, design and deliver new projects, especially for those with least access to opportunity.
• Accentuate projects: A set of projects creating opportunities for young disabled people
